W.J. Mouat is pleased to announce that in cooperation with U.C.F.V we are able to offer the following programs through our Virtual School in an on-line and/or on-site environment. Successful students will receive credit for the school course and also equivalent credits from U.C.F.V. This represents a great saving in time and money for our students. Students may be current School District #34 students or graduated students who are under 19 on July 1, 2006. Many of these courses can be used for elective credit or core credit at U.C.F.V. Many of these courses are further transferable from U.C.F.V to other Colleges and Universities throughout Canada. For more information please visit our website at www.mouatonline.com.

The CIS department recommends that the transfer credit be granted for the following courses, providing a grade of B or better is obtained, and B.C. Principles of Math 11with a C grade.  Transfer credit is assessed anew each year.  The following credit is for students completing their course work from the 2006-2007 school year on to be reviewed on a yearly basis.

Wide Area Networking I
Prerequisite(s): CIS 192 or CCNA Semesters 1 & 2.
This course is designed to teach students the skills they will need to design, build, and maintain local area networks and wide area networks. The focus of this course is to introduce the WAN protocols, software, and hardware technologies needed to build WANs. Students will also learn about virtual LANs, LAN switching, Fast Ethernets, Frame Relay, and ISDN networking. This course also covers how to configure routers to set up different types of LANs and WANs using LAN and WAN protocols.
